BSN's Cutimed Sorbact antimicrobial dressing has a special coating that gives the dressings water-repellent properties: Because pathogenic bacteria and fungi also have hydrophobic characteristics, they irreversibly bind to the Cutimed Sorbact wound dressing by the physical principle of hydrophobic interaction and are removed from the wound with every Cutimed Sorbact dressing change
Effective against all fungi and bacteria – even against MRSA and VRE
Cutimed Sorbact does not use any antiseptic or antibiotic substances, so, treatment is not linked to any risk of development of resistant strains of bacteria
The efficacy of Cutimed Sorbact is based solely on binding and removing wound pathogens without releasing chemically active substances that might impair the healing process
Unlike silver products, Cutimed Sorbact does not destroy bacteria, therefore, endotoxin release from dead cells is prevented, and natural wound healing is supported
