Purathick is formulated to thicken for hot and cold beverages – making liquids drinkable for those who have trouble swallowing, i.e. as those with dysphagia
Purathick's ingredients include tapioca maltodextrin, tara gum and calcium carbonate: Tapioca maltodextrin is a type of food starch derived from tapioca – a starch extracted from the cassava plant; tara gum, also called Peruvian carob, is an additive, obtained by grinding the endosperm of the seeds of Caesalpinia spinosa, of the Leguminosae family; calcium carbonate is commonly used in antacids
Purathick creates smooth thickened liquids without being slimy or gritty; it does not over-thicken
Purathick can be prepared with most liquids up to 24 hours in advance
